Galvanized steel plates are categorized into two main types: ordinary electro-galvanized plates and fingerprint-resistant electro-galvanized plates. The fingerprint-resistant type is produced by applying a special coating on the regular electro-galvanized plate, providing resistance to fingerprints and sweat corrosion. It is commonly used for components that do not require additional surface treatment and is designated as SECC-N. Ordinary electro-galvanized plates are further divided into phosphated and passivated types. Phosphated plates, known as SECC-P or “P material,” are more widely used, while passivated plates can be supplied either with or without an oil coating.
Hot-dip galvanized steel sheets (SGCC) offer a significant advantage over electro-galvanized sheets (SECC). While SECC tends to rust easily at bends or cut edges, SGCC provides superior corrosion resistance under similar conditions. High-quality chassis materials typically use SECC or SGCC plates, known for their bright metallic appearance and excellent durability against corrosion.
